The selections in ready-to-wear lingerie may be limited, peculiarly for petite or plus-sized women. Quality at an lowcost price is even harder to come by. Sewers may create a wardrobe of comfortable and beautiful undergarments with this book. It includes finish instructions on fitting; as well as necessary data on fabric selection, particular notions, and construction details.

From Library JournalMorris, a contributing editor at Threads magazine, without doubt or question gets a kick out of sewing, and here she communicates this exuberance to the reader while covering exhaustively such lingerie sewing-related subjects as selecting the right pattern and fabric, adjusting patterns and fitting, and finishing and embellishing. For Morris, lingerie includes not only underwear but likewise sleepwear and loungewear. Included are a good deal of tips and ideas for sewing “outside the box.” For example, why not wear your sheets to bed, making sleepwear out of cotton or flannel sheets? Why not turn an oversized shirt pattern into a loungewear top? Public and academic libraries with sewing collections must put this title on their short list.

5Always trust a Taunton Book!!!
By Candice
If you are the least bit mesmerized in devising your own lingerie, don’t waste your time on any other book, this book is the best!!

Don’t bother with books when it comes to nylon tricot. This book tells you when it comes to all of your fabric options. There is even selective information on using bed sheets!

While other books stop at camisoles and half slips, Sewing Lingeries that Fits covers the mysterious subject of bra fitting and construction.

And if you are into frou-frou and embellishments, there is even a section for you covering dyeing, beading, embroidery, etc.

This book has a large total of photos and a large total of selective information crammed into it’s 144 pages.

5A marvelously inspiring book
By Sue Wilson
I have to say I have a nice library of sewing books and this is one of my favourites!! It delves deep into the topic, has a large total of inspiring photos and clear, concise instructions.

If you like beauteous lingerie, want to undertake your hand at sewing something new, invent one-of a kind garments, this book is great.

One distinctive thing regarding this book, is while this book goes into depth in regards to special line of work lingerie fabrics, it likewise gives great ideas on how to use regular fabrics in ways you may not have considered.

It likewise gives instructions on how to adjust regular mercantile costume patterns for sleepwear and how to draft a heap of habit underwear patterns.

Just inspirational and great!!

3Pretty, not practical
By Shira L Jacobson
Although this book has the pretty layout of all Taunton books, it unluckily lacks clarity. Many proficiencies desribed left me pondering how they genuinely work. The book does have a lot of good usual counsel on selecting fabrics, and some possible ways to personalize your work. It might be worth a look, but the author seems to have a good deal of trouble when it comes to specific explanations.
I’d be fascinated to see if any person could figure out how to do a “turned lace hem” from the instructions.
