High Waist Girdle
Literally a crash course on having extremely pleasing style at any size, this book explores various areas of style that the intermediate curvy girl struggles with. Dressing your body type, shopping, and much more may be found and not from the perspective of a person who has never been in your shoes, but from a stylista who has always worn your peep toe pumps. Combine this with a little good humor, a dash of tough love, and whole lot of style and you have The Curvy Girl’s Guide to Style, Volume I.
About the AuthorAcademic by mind and fashionista by heart, Chastity Garner is in the first place from Brunswick, GA and has expended just under a decade in Atlanta, GA. She gained a Master of Public Administration Degree from Kennesaw State University. During graduate school, she became a signature model for Jibri plus sizes in 2005. That experience opened up a world of garments and pieces beyond my imagination. By the misfortune of a knee injury her days with the runway ended, but this opened up a new opportunity, wardrobe styling. Modeling was more when it comes to the clothes than in truth modeling in her eyes. Chastity opened up Garner Style to not only offer effigy consulting services to plus size women, but to the boutiques that serve them. After styling woman after woman, who had mountains of questions when it comes to style for the full figured women this lead to the begin of “The Curvy Girl’s Guide to Style.” A blog that reviews plus size fashion, gives the curvy girl style advise, and actively interacts with it’s readers to answer questions on fashion and style. Recognition that this blog has a creditable and solid place in plus size fashion came as increasing guest writer requests were sent from companies such as Dorothy Perkins and Skorch Magazine. Interviews from plus size fashion’s most recognizable fashion mavens, Ashley Falcon of Marie Claire Magazine & famed model, Velvet D’Amour, were granted for this blog as well. In addition, she has more lately started writing for The Examiner, The Dallas Plus Size Fashion Edition. Chastity presently resides in Dallas, TX with fiancé, Brian Valentine, and wonder dog, Sugarsnap, where she is continually writing on plus size fashion and the Curvy Girl Book Series.

Decent book- deceptively short read By G. Gerry I purchased this book after missing the prospect by one day to meet the author here in Phoenix at Strut Bridal Salon. I ordered this book initially because I liked the message and I am at a place where I am ready to hug my plus sized self. Once receiving it, I was genuinely disappointed in how short it was. Chastity in truth just starts to warm up and get going someplace when the book ends. At beneath 100 pages of actual helpful text, (which is printed in a sizeable font to start out with), it felt actually underdone. I’m going to assume this is because Ms. Garner is to be freeing a series of these books, which, frankly, I feel is a mistake. Why need to release 5 books at 14+ dollars each? All are variations on the same psychological result of perception learning and reasoning (dressing for dissimilar situations as a plus sized woman.) I would have been happy to spend 40 bucks on a more prominent text; something along the lines of The Plus Sized Woman’s Guide to Style in any Circumstance or something. I would have liked a huge reference for myself as a plus sized woman, rather of a series of tiny skinny books regarding how great it is to not be tiny or skinny. All in all a good idea but don’t suppose much more than basic psychological result of perception learning and reasoning (wear black, don’t wear horizontal stripes and know your measurements) and a HUUUUUUGE bibliography division almost as long as the book itself. I would give hope or courage to the mesmerized reader to get their copy from the library as you won’t need much time to read it, and the psychological result of perception learning and reasoning therein is effortlessly held (as there isn’t much to take in). I in truth feel that this text suffers from it is lack of more pages, knowledge, or substance.
